Paul Edward Trujillo

Paul Edward Trujillo, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 19, 2024.  

Services will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Thursday, Feb. 29. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.  

Paul resided in Jarales. He was a man of many talents and abilities. He graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in electrical engineering. He went on to obtain his law degree from the University of New Mexico.  

He led a full life; working as an engineer, teacher, county commissioner, school board member, lawyer and music promoter, but the role he enjoyed most was father and grandfather.  

He was a talented musician, dedicated farmer, writer, poet and always had a quick and sharp wit. He was the author of two published books of poetry. Paul loved traveling and spent many summers exploring Europe visiting old friends and making new ones. 

He is survived by his children, Erica Manzanares (Gregory), Gabriela Martinez-Trujillo (Garrett) and Serenity Garcia; grandchildren, Keanu Gabaldon, Athena Manzanares and Quirina George; siblings, Lena Hawley, Frank Trujillo and Betty Sanchez; as well as many other special nephews and nieces, friends and companions.  

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Reina Martinez-Trujillo; parents, Juan de Dios Trujillo and Reina Romero.
