Rene Leorase Scott 

1961-2023 

Rene Leorase Scott, age 61, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on July 21, 2023.  

He is survived by his children, Sabrina Domingues, Jason Scott, Joseph Scott, Jacob Scott and Jaelyn Scott; and their siblings, Jeremy and Justin Griego; his sisters, Dilenda Scott, Deborah Blea and Lisa Scott; and his brother, Robert Scott. He is also survived by his many cousins, uncles, nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Billie Scott; his sisters, Toni Scott and Janine Meraz; his grandmother, Ida Perkins; his uncle, James Gunnels; and his aunt, Patricia Salgado.  

Rene was born in Carlsbad, N.M., on Sept. 13, 1961, and was the third of seven children. He was a military policeman in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany and Hawaii.  

He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, shooting, camping and especially spending time with family. He had a great sense of humor, was very intelligent and had a sharp wit. He will be missed by many friends and family.  

Arrangements have been entrusted to Noblin Funeral Home in Belen. A private service will be held at a later date.
