Marilyn Silva has announced that she is a Democratic candidate for probate judge in the upcoming primary election.

Silva has been employed by the Valencia County Clerk’s office for the past four-and-one-half years and assists the current probate judge in probate matters.

“I chose to run for probate judge because I enjoy helping people during this crucial time of their life, especially the older citizens that need assistance during their difficulties,” Silva said.

“I believe that my bilingual skills are an asset and provide a measure of understanding and comfort.”

Silva said she believes continuity is an important tool in this office and that she intends to continue to serve the residents of Valencia County in a professional and friendly manner.

Silva is a lifelong resident of Valencia County and has been married for 26 years to her husband, Steve Silva.

Together, the couple has two children, Jessica and David, and five grandchildren. She is the daughter of Frank Lopez and Victoria Lopez of Belen.

“Thank you for your support,” Silva said. “It will be a pleasure to serve Valencia County. ¡Gracias!”
