New Women’s Golf Association Club Champions were named after the September competition.

In the Ladies 18 battle, two women traded places from Day 1 competition to Day 2 competition. After Day 1, Robin Boyd was in the lead with Kathryn Bayless posting a second best score; however, on Day 2, Bayless scored a win, with Boyd finishing second.

The end result was a championship for Bayless. The Ladies 18 champion from both 2021 and 2022, Berta Murzyn, was unable to play this year.

In the Ladies 9 division, Anna Martinez posted a win, with Fran Griffeth finishing second. Griffeth was the winner in 2022.

The Scramble Day team winners on Sept. 6 were Marilyn Jaramillo, Dorothy Lindberg and Griffeth. First Gross Winners on other play days during the month were Tinky Ulivarri, Martinez and Murzyn, with two wins.

The Ace Day winners for the month were Beverly Turley in the Ladies 9 division, and Ulivarri in the Ladies 18 division. Birdies were scored by Tammie Fuller, Marilyn Winters, Paula Valdez and Murzyn, with chip-ins by Winters and Bayless.

The main event for October is the annual Fall Frolics on Monday, Oct. 16. Currently, there are nine out-of-town teams and six local teams entered.
