James William Mickle Jr., age 58, a resident of Belen, passed peacefully on Aug. 20, 2022.

Services will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, Sept. 2, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a celebration of life.

He was born on Sept. 28, 1963, in Clarksville, Tenn. James loved the outdoors and fishing, but most of all race cars. He was known as car “96” round New Mexico race tracks.

He loved all his children, small animals and will be missed dearly.

James is preceded in death by his father, James W. Mickle Sr.; brother, Lee Mickle; father-in-Law, Joe Gurule; nephew, Matthew R. Gurule; and niece, Rebecca Castillo.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lita Mickle; his mother, Margaret Atkins; three daughters, Jamie (Javier), Mandalin (David) and Heather (Juan); son, Jason (Mary); brothers, Danny Mickle (Stacey) and Wayne Mickle; brother-in-law, Vincent (Rita); sister-in-law, Barbara Sandavol (Henry); five grandchildren, Angela, Juanito, Analicia, Cody and Giovanni; and all his many nieces and nephews.
