She was dedicated to her grandchildren, Elena, Adron, Erik, Nicole, Richard Michael, Edward Joseph, Leah and Lucia, who all loved hearing her stories before they went to sleep. Her great-grandchildren are Jacob, John, Leon, Theron, Elijah and Camden; and one great-great grandson, Carlisle, all who were very special to her.

She had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who loved going to see uncle Eddie and aunt Lucy in Vanadium, where fun, snacks and love waited for them.

Lucy was raised in Mogollon, N.M., and in Silver City. She and Eddie lived and raised their children in Vanadium, N.M.

She first worked at the Ford Motor Company in the late 1940s after graduating from high school. After raising her children, she received a bachelor’s degree at Western New Mexico University.  She then worked at the Grant County Assessor’s Office.

Lucy was a substitute teacher for Cobre Consolidated Schools, and as a library assistant at the Bayard Public Library. During all this, Lucy was a religious education teacher for Our Lady of Fatima in Bayard, N.M.

She was an avid walker and swimmer, but reading and watching murder mysteries were her favorite pastimes.

She will be laid to rest with her husband at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery, Ft. Bayard, N.M., at a future date.

Adair Funeral Homes in Tucson, Ariz., is in charge of final arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations to United Cerebral Palsy would be appreciated.
