She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Anthony Lee and Rose Maldonado, and their children, Anthony Maldonado Jr., and Angela Cabrerra, and her husband, Omar Caberra, along with their children, Luke, Irah, Ava and Anna. She is also survived by her niece, Rhonda Maldonado Blackwell; great-niece, Ashley Blackwell; great-nephew, Issac Blackwell; niece, Victoria Maldonado Apodaca; and great-niece, Mariah Apodaca.

Irene was a kid at heart; our fondest memories of her were all the silly things she used to do to make us laugh so hard, sometimes, making us cry happy tears. She had a pure and innocent heart and would call us daily to remind us not to work so hard or pick up any hitchhikers on our way home. She also always offered to pay for our meals.

She loved dancing and each one of us has a fond memory of her teaching us the two step. She loved her quiet time with her crossword puzzles and walking to the senior center on a daily basis to make new friends.

She always had popsicles or candy to offer us when we went for a visit. She had a pure joyful heart but was as tough as nails. She was a hero to many of us who observed her outlook on life and the strength she endured with the many challenges she faced.

We love you, auntie, and we will forever embrace your memory when we close our eyes and miss you.

Services for Pabla will take place on Wednesday, June 14, at Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel. A visitation will take place at 10 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 10:30 a.m., concluding with a prayer service at 11 a.m.
